Methodist Orthopaedic Specialists of Texas physicians are deeply involved in giving back to the community – from serving as team physicians for local school districts to giving their time to charitable programs.
Methodist Orthopaedic Specialists of Texas have partnered with The City of Sugar Land Parks and Recreation and are excited to host a free Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Competition for local youth. This event will take place Saturday April 14th from 1- 4 p.m. at First Colony Park in Sugar Land, Texas. Pitch, Hit & Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. The grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete; free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball and softball skills.
Competitions are divided by gender and into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14. Participants will have the chance to advance through three levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2012 MLB All-Star Game. The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age group at the local competition will be awarded and advance to the sectional level of competition.
All participants must bring of a copy of their birth certificate and fill out a registration/wavier form prior to the start of the competition. Pre-registration is preferred and you may pick up registration forms at Methodist Orthopaedic Specialists of Texas, 1201 Brooks Street, Sugar Land, Texas 77478.
